Hanns R.Neuman Stiftung Ethiopia is a
representative office of the Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung (HRNS), which was
established as a not-for-profit and independent foundation dedicated to
supporting coffee farmers to become strong entrepreneurs and to address the
challenges associated with protecting the environment, climate change and
biodiversity.
Hanns
R.Neumann Stiftung Ethiopia is currently undertaking a project namely
implementing HRNS –SAFA project and
wants to hire qualified and competent person for the following position.
Job Title: Operations
Manager
Job Purpose: The Operations
Manager is responsible for the leadership of field staff and for the effective
planning and implementation of all field activities in accordance with contractual obligations,
organizational and national policies, and organizational Standard Operating
Procedures (SOP).
Duty station: The duty station will
be the HRNS ET office in Addis Ababa,
Responsibilities and Tasks
1.
Activity Planning, implementation, and budget
management
·
Contribute to the development and approval of
work plans.
·
Assist in the
design and effective and efficient implementation of the extension system.
·
Approve field requisitions and monitor
expenditures for field activities.
·
Track and monitor budget and financial
progress.
·
Work closely with the Country Director and
management team to set and implement policies, procedures, and systems and
follow through with implementation.
·
Contribute operations information and
recommendations to strategic plans and reviews;
·
Develop Procurement and annual plan with
close coordination of Field Operation Managers.
2.
Field Staff Management
·
Manage and
coordinate field staff.
·
Ensure
efficient collaboration between field staff.
·
Monitor and evaluate field staff performance and
assess areas of capacity building needs.
·
Ensure field
staffs have a thorough understanding of the project purpose and objectives.
·
Monitor Employees performance, and develop HR
plan with the consultation of Country Director and work closely with the HR
Officer.
3.
Supervision and compliance
·
Assist in the
design and implementation of the Internal Control System.
·
Closely
monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of project activities.
·
Ensure
compliance with organizational, regional and national standards and guidelines.
4.
Stakeholder relations
·
Liaise with
Government authorities at federal, regional and woreda level on project
purpose, approach and activities.
·
Participate
to steering committee meetings and other meetings as requested by management.
·
Assist in the
dissemination of information generated by the project to stakeholders.
·
Assume
responsibility for the clean image of the project among stakeholders.
Job
Requirement
·
A bachelor’s degree or master’s
degree in Rural Development or a related field.
·
Proven experience in project
management ( 10 years and above )
·
Ability to lead project teams
of various sizes and see them through to completion.
·
Strong understanding of formal
project management methodologies.
·
Able to complete projects in a
timely manner.
·
Experience overseeing
agricultural development projects
·
Budget management experience.
·
Must have demonstrated knowledge of
management of multi stakeholder modality.
·
Exceptional communication skill with
proficiency of English is compulsory.
